first it has to be seamless or it looks bad. but you should be able to save as .pat into the gimp pattern directory and then load it up from there to use as fill. i'm not exactly sure what you need to know.

It says in the gimp manual. In the layers dialogue, save the layer name as foo(200ms) and layer foo will display for 200 miliseconds. Rather simple really.

I have been looking for free true-type fonts, and I have found many web sites out there. The one thing that they have in common is that they have them all listed *individually*, and not one of them (that I have found so far) have all fonts in one big file that I can just download and extract.
