Hi there! In the Gimp FAQ, I found a hint for using the "freefonts" and the "sharefonts" as additional fonts. Nevertheless, I would like to have an even bigger choice. Does anybody have further links to more fonts usable in XFree86 an Gimp? Thanks for any hints, Matthias --

Hi there! I just compiled and started gimp-1.1.18. When I open a pic now or create a new one, I get an error message "unable to open swap-file... BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN SOON". Well, what is the correct option or permission to allow the gimp to open a swap file? Thanks for any hints.

Hi In my ~/.gimp directory I find some files named gimpswap.xxx, where xxx stands for different numbers. Those files are rather big (some of them a lot of MB), and I would really like to know, what are these files for. Can anybody tell me? Thanks. Matthias -- SelfLinux

compling gimp on a foreign system

Hi all! I have a (hardware/signal 11) problem with compiling gimp on my local system. So I tried to compile it on a foreign machine and copied the whole folder with the binaries to my local system. Then I typed "make install" as root and hoped that everything would be ok. The system is nearly
