This error happened with the first two released installers for GIMP 2.10.8
- if your installer is not named gimp-2.10.8-setup-2.exe (note the -2

Dear All,
I am new to this list.
I have a question about the Vignette filter.
In 2.8 onder Tools, GECL tools, I often used Vignette. Mostly with a
Radiance of 1.6 or 1.7, a Softness of .8 and Gamma 1,2 or 3. I have the

If the xcf looks good, and the png looks good, then the problem is with
something other than GIMP I think?
Maybe try a different image hosting service or check that the forum doesn’t
do something funky.

Hey all. I've designed a graphic I wanted to use in a forum post and am
experiencing a huge dip in clarity by the time I get it onto the page.
Created as .xcf, export to .png, upload using tinypic, embedded it in the forum
with bb code. It's beautiful crystal clear as an .xcf file and as saved
I want to use GIMP to create transparent PNG images. I want to copy/paste text,
boxes & arrows from MS Powerpoint into GIMP 2.8.22, then export to PNG so these
can be put onto a video timeline. I've got it to work perfectly except the
objects pasted into GIMP aren't located properly. I have a
Hey, with 2.10.8 up, I had a lot of issues. I made sure I had the latest driver
from Huion; didn't work. I tried uninstalling and re-installling 2.10.8. Nada.
I switched back to 2.8. It was abysmal, and wouldn't work for me.
I fixed my issue by going into the update mainframe on gimp, and

okay, I uninstalled GIMP, then reinstalled it.
Now I'm getting an error message:
C:\Program files\GIMP 2\bin\gimp-2.10.exe
fatal error: unhandled exception
what now?

YES!!! I loved the offset...worked
I just tried again — I get the hourglass cursor for a little while, and GIMP
never launches.
I put quite a bit of work into customizing GIMP, so it's not exactly ideal to
uninstall and reinstall. But I don't know what else to do.

Hello. I hope you are in good health and good spirits.
I am using GIMP 2.8.14 on a MacBook Pro that runs OS 10.14.1 ("Mojave").
I have selected a complex line image and have used the Move tool to move the
image horizontally. The result is that I have a screen showing the original
position of the

earlier today, I downloaded GIMP 2.10.8 on my Windows10 machine.
Since I'm a Photoshop guy that can no longer afford PS, I installed some tweaks
to make GIMP look and act more like PS. These tips are readily available with a
google search, and I did nothing to the GIMP files other than what was

Hello. Since I've downloaded GIMP 2.10.0 (don't have the newer version yet, but
am in the process of slowly downloading it) I have had an issue with cutting and
pasting into GIMP. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. I use the
Windows Snipping Tool most of the time, but have been able to
First turn off the active selection: Select -> None
With such a tiny image, the chequer "transparency" pattern gets in the way. Add
a layer underneath and fill with a colour. You want that anyway for a new
background.
