[Gimp-user] Gimp does not open images - unknown file message

Just downloaded GIMP 2.8.20 to a Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I can not open any images. I get the message: "Unknown file type". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times. Does anyone know how to fix this? -- Minikin (via www.gimpusers.com/forums)

[Gimp-user] Pen not working properly

I'm using a Huion H610 tablet. It works perfectly with the test software and things like paint. With Gimp however it's not allowing me to do continuous strokes. When I press on the tablet it will make an initial dot but not allow me to make a continuous line. Any help would be appreciated --

This works for me: 1. Enter your text 2. Layer-> Text to Path 3. Edit-> Stroke path (You need to choose a different colour from the text color. If you want a black outline, make the text red, or some other colour and stroke it with black.) 4. Edit-> Select by Color. (Select the red "insides".)
