Which operating system are you working on?

Did you mount the SD-card?

I have exported a tif file from Darktable:

Then I opened it in Gimp2.10 and exported it to a jpg, png and renamed tif

this:

[Gimp-user] Aquire missing

2018-05-18 Thread Johann Spies
Gimp 2.10 on Debian
Xsane installed: /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/xsane

The Aquire-menu does not show up in Gimp 2.10. If I makes a symlink of
xsane to .config/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins, the startup process of gimp tells
me that it is ignoring the duplicated plugin.

Gimp's plugin-browser does not show xsane.

How do I solve this?

I do not want to use ExifTool in this case. My problem is that I open
an image with a lot of exif-information in Gimp and when Gimp exports
it, those information is lost. How can I prevent Gimp from doing it?

I do not take photos in jpeg. Work with raw mostly with Darktable but
there are time when I want to edit a photo in Gimp.

It seems that the information about Gimp not giving back the
Exif-information has not changed that much in 12 year... :(

[Gimp-user] Gimp 2.10 and exif-information

2018-05-11 Thread Johann Spies
I have read on a 12-year old flickr discussion that Gimp does not save
exif information in other formats than XCF and jpeg.

I just experimented with Darktable exporting an image to Gimp2.10 which pass
it back to Darktable using png and tiff(32bit) formats and in both cases
the exif-information of the image edited in Gimp was missing. Is there
a way to do this exchange in tif (which I prefer) and keep the
exif-information?

People from the Debian-user mailing list helped me to solve this one:

"ldd /usr/bin/gimp"" showed that a rogue library of libbabl in /usr/local/
was loaded. Removing that and gimp 2.10 (and gegl) works without a
problem.

Something to remember for the future.

In Debian gimp-python provides this but the flatpak version does not

[Gimp-user] Building 2.10 RC2 failed

2018-04-21 Thread Johann Spies
On Debian.

I am trying to build RC2 and as far as I can determine I have all the
correct versions of the prerequisites installed. But building it fails
with

/usr/bin/gegl: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgegl-0.3.so.0: undefined symbol:
babl_process_rows

and

/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgegl-0.3.so.0 is a symlink to
libgegl-0.3.so.0.334.0

both the symlink and the real file was installed by the package
ii libgegl-0.3-0:amd64 0.3.34-1

The installed babl package:

ii libbabl-0.1-0:amd64 0.1.46-1

Any idea how to solve this?
