People from the Debian-user mailing list helped me to solve this one: "ldd /usr/bin/gimp"" showed that a rogue library of libbabl in /usr/local/ was loaded. Removing that and gimp 2.10 (and gegl) works without a problem. Something to remember for the future. Regards Johann -- J.H.
