I need some serious help here. I have used GIMP successfully on another
computer before, but since trying to install it on my new laptop, I haven't been
able to get it working.
Whenever I try to open any image file type, I get an error message back that
says:
"Opening '...' failed:
Unknown
I hope that you can help me. For a long time I have been trying to make
layer masks of fine details, such as leafless trees full of twigs, using
Gimp 2.8. I can make what looks like a perfect black and white image for
the mask but when I apply it to the photo all the twigs come out with a
white
When I open a new layer (jpeg) into a new file, and resize it, it disappears -
only showing as a transparency. When i look at the channels for this new layer -
they are blank. Does anyone know why, and what I need to do? Thanks
