Yep, same here on my relatively new iMac running OS X 10.11.6 and GIMP 2.8.18. My issue is mostly with redraw speed of the preview following any editing change. I tried all sorts of techniques to try and speed things up--like changing file cache size, etc--all to no avail. My understanding is that
