Yes, it would be nice if GIMP had simple a scripting language.

I just installed linux with a fresh copy of gimp. The brush icons and color
picker among other things are dark blue here is a link that shows the problem

I am a total newbie of using gimp. I tried to combine three plots into a figure,
but got the first plot having white background. Is there way to remove the white
background and then merge all the layers into one, and then fill the background
with white? Thanks,

The xcf should reproduce the issue. Just delete the existing layer from
layer->delete layer, and then file->open as layers to import the attached png
file, and you will see the figure gets blurred. Quite weird, is it?
