New user here. running GIMP 2.8.10 on an old XP machine.
Have downloaded 2.8.14 but holding off on the installation while learning.
Al that aside. Question, How do I change a selection to a layer?

Having trouble printing out a pic, centered on the paper (like it shows in
the preview).
I've tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work.
I don't have that problem PS, PSP, or in fact with any of the other editing
programs

I sent that question to the gimp-user-list, before I found the gimp users
forum (I'm not a list member) so please excuse the oversight.
The list manager allowed it to go to the list anyway and I thank him (or
her) for that decision.
