 Hi,

I have not been able to find a downloadable PDF version of the GIMP manual.

I want to print it out, as I prefer having a paper version of manuals.

If anyone can direct me to the download, I would really appreciate it

 Thank you,

 C Shell

An excellent one here for Gimp 2.8 - English or Italian

You should be able to build (i.e. compile) the source files into the latest PDF.
The page at http://docs.gimp.org/ provides HTML output for the manual.

You can check at https://git.gnome.org/browse/gimp-help-2/log/ about
the recent changes.
Thus, if you managed to find an older PDF for the GIMP manual, you can
deduce what changes your old copy may be missing.

If someone would like to help here, they can get a copy of the Git
repository at git://git.gnome.org/gimp-help-2 and produce a fresh copy
of the latest PDF.

You should be able to build (i.e. compile) the source files into the latest
 PDF.

This suggests

1. Having Linux or Mac around (not always a case, really).
2. Having the complete toolchain installed for building PDF files
(requires expertise).
3. Studying how it all works (it's a simple command. and yet...).

I think it's time we simply bring back up-to-date PDFs.
