Thank you. I installed the GTK version and while the startup error still occurs,
at least it appears under Filters and works.

Hi,
I am trying to get g'mic to work in Gimp 2.10 RC1. but the following error
occurs with it tries to load the gmic_gimp_qt.exe.
Have installed gmic in it's own folder "C:\GimpPlugin\gmic_gimp_qt" and have
listed that folder in Gimp's plugin folder list.
Please advice?
Thanks.

my way again. I have installed 2.9.5 now and have run into g'mic problems with
gmic-gimp.exe causing an error on startup. I have removed gmic completely and
reinstalled it, but there must be an old reference floating about somewhere as I
can still not use it. Will do a complete reinstall of 2.9.5
An image size is expressed in pixels, not in bytes of file space,
because this depends too much on compression algorithms and actual
image
contents.
Since 500k-1MB is the usual disk space size for JPEG images around
4Mpx,
we will assume you are talking about 800Mpx images (25000x25000), 4GB

Hello:
I need to be able to apply the Dream Smoothing filter to relatively large image
sizes, 100 to 200 megabytes.
Currently it works well on relatively small images, 500 kb to 1000 kb.
I have tried to use the Oil Paint filter in PhotoShop which produces similar
effects, but it has similar

Tried this version under :
Linux Mint, Gimp 2.8.2, and it looks good.
Windows 7 64 bit, Gimp 2.8.6, and it fails with error message
The procedure entry point __gxx_personality_sj0 could not be located in the
dynamic link library libstdc++-6.dll
It would be helpful to know if anyone else has this
It means that your Gimp was built with one version gcc (and associated
libstdc++) and you have another in your path.

I only have one version, as installed with Gimp 2.8.6.
G'MIC for Gimp 2.6 had one in the package, but there isn't one with 1.5.6.1.
So it looks like a possible G'MIC for Windows packaging problem.
I'll stick with the Mint option.
Thanks for your response.

Hello,
G'MIC is a separate project and the G'MIC's GIMP filters are not
released as core filters. So you should ask them directly if you have
any questions about these filters: http://gmic.sourceforge.net/
Have a nice week-end! :-)
