Thank you, Dave. I installed Thunderbird on our Mac and after a few moments was able to figure out the next steps. After setting up a News account, I clicked on “Manage newsgroup subscriptions”, typed GIMP in the “Show items that contain:” line. “comp.graphics.apps.gimp” was at the top of the list. Clicked the checkbox, clicked Subscribe and OK. Done. This is mostly for those (like me) who haven’t used newsgroups in a long time, or ever. In Discourse use "tags" (like on SO...) and you can of course search/display using tags, and even put them in a URL. There is a "GIMP" tag on the forum if you want to see only GIMP related messages: https://discourse.gnome.org/tag/gimp 2. GIMP Users, I hate web based forums/help because it is a royal pain to use. There is an alternative. It is "comp.graphics.apps.gimp" news group. Not familiar with news groups? If you use Thunderbird, the newsgroup reader is built in. A great provider is news://nntp.aioe.org. Fear not, they are very easy to use - just like email.
