In my experience (GIMMP 2.4 thru 2.6, Windows XP, Wacom Intuos 3) sometimes GIMP has trouble detecting the tablet during its startup routines. If this happens then you can still use the tablet to interact with interface elements (toolbars, menus, etc.) but when attempting to draw with it it
