Hello List,
Some raw image data from a x-ray CT scan come out
in an unfamiliar format to me. The file name with
extension is filename.ct. Is it possible to read
the data directly with GIMP? If not, would it be
possible to write a module in GIMP for it? if so,
how would I go about doing writing

NOTE: I just successfully installed the source tarball version of Gimp 2.0.1
so the question below applies to either Gimp 1.2 or Gimp 2.0. I now have the
option of using either one for the Fire image.

I just installed the new Gimp 2.0.1 from source tarball. Everything looks
fine, and there were NO errors during the three stages of install (configure,
make and make install). Of course, I first downloaded and installed and
upgraded all prerequisites.

No problem. I downloaded the Gimp 2.0 source tarball help files from Gimp's
Download page, installed them (./configure, make, make install). Checked them
in Gimp 2.0. All works perfectly: both the Help file and the Help context
file.
