Hi,
a new snapshot of the development towards GIMP 2.4 is now available
from ftp.gimp.org and it's mirrors. Please note that starting with
this version, GIMP 2.3 depends on GTK+ version 2.8.8 or newer.
The GIMP developers would like to encourage everyone to give this
release a try and to help us

i just recommended a windows friend to use Gimp and he is actually
really happy with it. The only thing is that he needs to use Japanese
fonts with it and it seems as if Gimp doesn't let him access the
regular system fonts. Gimp has its own font directory.
I run Gimp on Linux and i can
GIMPFilePreferencesFoldersFont
Add Windows fonts folder and that should work. Restart GIMP first of

Hi!
I have spent quite a few days searching for an application to help me manage my
photo collection. The thing is this: I have quite a big photo archive which I
try to manage via a folder - subfolder structure. Yet I find it extremely

Exifer is great to edit all your EXIF / IPTC. To manage your photo's you
could also consider Picasa from Google. Besides showing the pictures in
their folders, it also has the option to link your photos to as many
virtual folders as you need. Moreover, you can append IPTC keywords.
Cheers

I'm new to the list and I've been using gimp for several months. I like browse image thumbnails from within Windows (I know I) and I think I'm inadvertently causing multiple instances of The Gimp to run in the background as I can easily end up with 15-20 Gimp menus.
Is there a better way to do

Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
