is it possible to run a Puthon-Fu scritp which perform the
following:
1) Start the crop tool with fixed aspect ratio 16:9
2) Allow the user to resize the crop area
3) Apply some other automatic filtering
I get stuck in step 2, I cannot understand if it is feasible.

When I use the drop-shadow filter, I see the checkerboard around the image
-- not a
drop shadow. I've tried changing the background, tried duplicating the
layer and
working on that. I've also looked through some tutorials which are
well-written and
clear and it looks so easy -- can someone tell
I would like to capture a screen shot from google books, but the "dragging"
neccesary to define a region to capture is already used by the iceweasel
(browser) window to mean move in image.
How can I set up alternative bindings to "drag" so the screenshot gimp dialog
will capture the image i want

Are you trying to make a drop shadow for an object against a transparent
background? At least it sounds like this to me. (Otherwise, you don't
get the checkerboard patte
This was happening in 2.6.3 and now in 2.6.4
Selecting the Foreground Select Tool gives me the 'lasso' (Free Select
Tool) tip and it acts as the Free Select Tool, not as the Foreground
Select Tool
Starting from the command line I get
