[Gimp-user] Text looks rough

When I make a web banner that is only text it looks great in GIMP and in my web page maker. When I put it up on the web the text looks "rough" like someone cut it out with a jig saw. I use the banner in JPG format or GIF format and the results are the same. Any ideas how to fix it?
