[Gimp-user] Colors

Can I change the color depth of a image using Gimp? I scaned a image as  
greyscale to paint with Gimp. But I can not add color while it is  
greyscale. Now I want change from greyscale to RGB. Anyone know how do  
this?

PS: Scan again is not a good reply for me

PNG/RGB file
Some of index colored(Palletes) PNG files sopport compress options.
(and it will reduction file-size too.)
If you can reduction the graphicfile which 2,4,8,16-256 colors 'from'
16/24bit colors,the filesize will smaller than it too.
(Does Linux and Gimp sopprt 32bit colors?)

hey,
How can I invert colors? Like i have a yellow background with a blue 
drawing. How can I make the background blue and vice versa? I filled 
flood fill but it doesnt come out right.
