Hi Keith - I just tried the same thing on a Linux system - I think the problem is with the dynamic text layer. Try using Layer to Imagesize on that layer first, before calling the alpha to logo script-fu. I haven't had a chance to look at the neon script-fu code yet, but it looks like it's not handling the smaller layer properly.
