Re: [Gimp-user] Smoothing out the image edges?

Thanks guys. The "path" option works very well.
Here is a much better looking star:

Tagg: Scaling is also a great option. I got good results with that, but path
seems like a much better option.

Thanks again.

Try converting the selection to a path and stroking the path. Or better yet,
see if you can start with a path from the very beginning. The stroke on paths
seems to be a bit smoother than the one on selections.

[Gimp-user] Smoothing out the image edges?

2008-12-28 Thread Ajay Gautam
I followed the tutorial at:
http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Borders_On_Selections/

and created:
http://ajaygautam.com/star.png

The image is very rough. I would like to either create a smoother
image, or smooth this one out.

I tried finding information on google, but perhaps I wasn't searching
for the right thing.

Any help / pointer(s) in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

PS: I am VERY new to graphic design, methods and terminology. Pointers
to documentation discussing basic concepts and related terminology of
computer graphic design would be VERY much appreciated too.

Thanks in advance.

Ajay
