Do you have the jpeg libraries installed? Check /usr/lib/libjpeg.

Hi all,
When trying to open a jpg file, I receive the following error: unknown file
type.
In the determine file type box, I don't see the jpg format either. Gimp
was installed as part of a Slackware 8 install.
What is missing? How can I fix?
