Hey,

1.3.x is for testing use and should not be used for everyday work. So
waiting for stable 1.4.0 is a good thing to do. However testing 1.3.x is
really good. :-)

For the CMYK thingys you are asking for, work is being done from what I
know and this might be in the 1.2.4 when it comes out as stable.

New things that is being add to 1.3 is best to view from CVS ChangeLog.
Right now it seems to be the 1.2.4 that is the main issue to release and
this seems to go really well. So use 1.2.3 for all day work and 1.3.x
for testing things.
