You can still see this values, but they are now move into the tooloptions. Just doppelclick on the crop icon. I just watch the numbers that show in the tool options. Much more convenient than the old dialog that always came up on top of the image, since tool options stay docked beneath the Toolbox. And the Fixed: Aspect Ratio works great for keeping it square (or 4x3 or whatever other aspect ratio I need).
