Have you upgraded to a regular Debian distribution? I upgraded from Knoppix to Debian Unstable because too many of the Knoppix packages were basically broken. I tried, once, to move from Knoppix to Stable -- possible but too much work for *me*. Unstable has been very stable and delivered the "promised Debian stability." Peter A.
