I was reading a book on tattoos, Tattoo -- From Idea to Ink, which has 
a final chapter on image manipulation for tattoo artists using 
Photoshop.  The really cool thing is that everything they said to do 
with Photoshop I already knew how to do with GIMP:)

Note that the manual is in large areas not yet updated for GIMP 2.6.

The GEGL Overlay mode is actually implemented as defined in the upcoming
SVG 1.2 spec, see:
