Add 1 pix wide white layer, render RGB noise in it (with correlated
option toggled so it appears grey), adjust curves or levels to keep
the ammount of black/dark grey dots you want, then scale horizontally
to fill the final size. Use colour to alpha or blend modes to keep
only the lines.
