it to png and open it with IE5/NC the
transparent displays black also when I flatten the image the transparency
becomes
black. How do I get a picture to display transparent in IE5 and what does
flattening a image acctually do.

Thanks for all the help with the transparency. I learned a lot.
The problem lies with Internet Explorer which can't handle png's very
well so I have to convert to gif for the time being.
