Well, you can always do a screen shot. The problem is probably that word
converts its images to a vector format (wmf or something strange like that).
Check out the menu to see if it allows something like "save as bitmap"
You should use mspaint
-copy you picture in word
-launch mspaint
-do paste
-do copy
-go to gimp
-use "File/Acquire/From Clipboard
