Hi - I'm trying to put together a site where I can build images through cgi (I know
I'm not the first :^).

I've written some perl scripts that use the perl server and it's great.
I've got it running to a virtual frame buffer and everything.

So here's the thing. I'd really like to get this to make the actual images as fast as
possible. I think that every time I run a script, the gimp is running from scratch.
Is there a way to just keep a gimp running, and have the script use the existing gimp?

Are there any other optimizations you can think of so this will work better?
(sometimes an image takes long enough to generate that http actually times out. :^)

Thank you,
.b
