Re: [Gimp-web] WGO Front page copy, Features, and Screenshots

2015-12-01 Thread Pat David
I agree about scientific imaging, and it might be a good place to consider
possibly including talking about some other plugins?

I also am not sure what we might need screenshots for initially, but I can
understand where it might be helpful/useful/interesting for newcomers that
have no idea what things might look like. (I personally find it strange, as
with free software the only thing stopping you from _seeing_ the software
is actually installing it, as opposed to something you'd have to purchase
to actually see).

My thought at the moment is this:

1. Just under the news/intro section, and before the "HQ Photo" section, to
include a new section with a nice big view of (single window mode?) a
workspace. Possibly with a link/text that leads to the screenshots (or
feature) page. (assuming we keep a screenshots page - which seems like
folks may want).

2. A single Features page with an overview of various grouped features we
want to highlight.

3. A features page that coincides with each of the core values sections,
that looks at or highlights tools specific to those workflows. These
sections are all workflow oriented vs. general feature overviews.

I'd probably throw scientific imaging in the mix, although some
relevant features are only available as 3rd party plugins/scripts.

Actually, I'm struggling to understand why a dedicated screenshots
page should exist.
