Am enjoying the Sob posts - next time I want a good cry, I'll know what to read! One that used to make me cry was Playing Beattie Bow by Ruth Park.
Also, if you really want to sob, read Banjo Paterson's poem "The Last Parade" (easily found online - eg at http://whitewolf.newcastle.edu.au/words/authors/P/PatersonAB_Banjo/verse/riogrande/lastparade.html
It has our family (especially the horsey ones) in floods every time!
