[git-users] how to organize a repository for a shared-template system?

Hello all, I'm slowly getting myself up to speed on git, having used CVS and SVN previously. I think I have the basics figured out and have done some tests, but the git way of branching and cloning repositories still has me slightly confused -- partly in the how should I use these in practice?

Hi, Let's say I have two independent repositories A and B. A has a branch 'a', which I want to have in B. What I mean is that I'd like to have the sequence of changes in the branch 'a' to be present in B, thus creating an independent branch 'b' in B. From what I read from manual, 'format-patch'
