I tried to look at the source code for git-bash.exe to try to figure it
out, but I can't find git-bash in the git repo. There are no files with
'git-bash' in their name, and the string 'git-bash' occurs only in comments
in git-gui.sh.

I read the github issue discussion, where the claim is made that the Git
for Windows installer does *not* install those shortcuts. That's ridiculous
and untrue -- it most definitely does.
