I cloned a repository via "git clone ". Then i made a new
branch, edited some files and created some new files. During this
process, I didn't do any commit or something. Then I wanted do update
the master branch to get the newest version of files I didn't edit.

thanks for your reply. Somehow (after several checkouts) the data is
back. I really should read more about Git and its usage to avoid such
problems.
