@rdipardo, Thank you for the script. It went smoothly and all installation

I purged xed which automatically made Geany the default text editor. xed is

Using Linux Mint Cinnamon, I blocked out the following lines in the
"/usr/share/gtksourceview-3.0/styles/cobalt.xml" which eliminated my problem.

It is the window width which sets the word wrap, not scintilla.
But the line break option contains half of the feature by breaking a newly
typed line. I am hoping that someone in the future may look at the this script
and figure out breaking existing lines as well.
Much thanks for continuing the discussion. I realize the issues involved, and
these posts may help others like me searching for solutions. And Textpad is
definitely proprietary. I am using it with Wine but would like to replace
everything Windows.

We are confused about what is wanted to be accomplish. Having both a line break

Wrapping the text to a selected width setting based on the character count is
the logical option. If it's set to 68 characters, that would be the correct

Yes, I understood what is happening. Wrap only occurs when typing counting the

@elextr, your instructions are perfectly clear, but the line doesn't break, as

Is it possible to implement an actual wrap at the wrap indicator, instead of
just the vertical line? I am only using Linux now, but I used this feature

I am using Geany in Linux Mint and Kubuntu, so I comfortable with KDE and GTK.
This problem is identical in both and has nothing to do with a selected color
scheme. Dark system themes are not always preferred.
Apologies for closing it. I am reading about the topic and understand the 30
character restriction because of multiple tab's width. I assume that now you
must create another branch before concatenation? From where is the complete
string extracted?

It took me awhile to realize the implications of what you meant. Geany window
title reads the tab, and that is wrong. The current tab's abbreviated format
should not be used in the window title because it's useless. So, my question is
where do tabs get the filenames from before concatenation?
