It seems, `make in-place' on a binary distribution (gen'ed with
`make binary-dist Project=Ghc', CVS 2000/01/09)
doesn't produce a working system, because:
ghc/drivers/ghc-inplace (which I believe is copied to
bin/arch/ghc-4.06.prl in the binary dist) contains the following lines:
