Hi,
Did the file ghc-6.2.2.tar.bz2 get changed without the version number
being
changed? The md5 sum of the files has changed, breaking the darwinports
and presumably the *BSD ports builds as well.
I didn't see any notice to the list, so I'm not sure if the change is
intentional,
or if the
Hi Sven,
Yes, that would be it. The change is harmless enough.
Thanks for the pointer to the message.

Hi Tom,
If this isn't just running out of disk space, let me know your hardware
configuration
and Xcode versions (uname -a, processor type and total amount of
memory, gcc3 -v).
So far, all of the reported problems building 6.2.2 under darwinports
have been related
to Apple's gcc3 (i.e.,
haskell utilities (e.g.,
alex, darcs, happy, haddock, hs-plugins, hsshellscript) are available
through Darwinports.

This is a good idea. Maybe the infrastructure can support a haskell
directory under lang/ where all of the haskell ports could reside.
The existing arrangement is modeled on FreeBSD's port layout,
which is a relatively flat hierarchy. This, I think, was caused by
the limitations of using
Hi,
I was playing with dynamically loaded modules and had the same problem.
It has nothing to do with shared objects. What you have to do is to
force
the main program (the one that loads the loadable modules) to explicitly
link all of the object files that the set {main program, loadable
Hi,
Is there any way to make GHC dump the type checker tree in some kind of
human readable format? I'm not interested in it when it is successful,
but I'd
like to look at the search tree when type checking fails.
Is this possible?

Hi Kennis,
I've just made the GHC-6.0.1 port under darwinports work, so I know
what the problem is.
(Actually, I know what the problem is because Wolfgang told me :-) )
You're using gcc-3.3 and need to either compile HEAD from cvs or force
the build to
use gcc-3.1. Try running configure as

Hi Wolfgang,
I tried building 6.0.1 on Panther using 6.0.1 built on Jaguar. (The

Hi Wolfgang,
I just updated my powerbook to Panther and tried my old ghci image
(built under Jaguar).
It seems to run OK, although I haven't tested it extensively. I used it
with both
the terminal interface and emacs.
It may be possible to compile a Panther compiler using a ghc built
