That sounds like it would help. :)

I should be able to manage that without too much fuss (will find out).

This would be an error in the rpc layer if rdma is a legitimate
transport type for volume/data or glusterd/management. This error is
being seen since glusterd is instructed to listen on both tcp rdma in
 glusterd.vol.

Maybe it is time to get our FAQ page current and add this in there?

Yep.

Another change that seems necessary is the brick detail in this message:

0-glusterd: resolve brick failed in restore

Providing server name and path of the brick would make this log message
 a lot more meaningful.

Good thinking. :)

For this one, I'll create a BZ on Mon.

Thanks, Joe. I found one of my machine has been assigned wrong IP

Originally, I thought the following error is critical:

I'm pretty sure that means that one of the bricks isn't resolved

Re: [Gluster-devel] [Gluster-users] Command /etc/init.d/glusterd start failed

2014-04-12 Thread Joe Julian
Something to keep in mind when writing error messages for users as
opposed to developers: Try to include the response to, So what?

What are the results of that error message? No source for sink, though
obvious to an afr programmer, means that home depot is closed to the
rest of the world. If I read that error message and ask, So what, what
would your one sentence response be?
