I do what you're trying to do, with bonds going to two independent switches
(not stacked) from each host.
Works fine for the engine, vms network, migration, etc, but I don't use
Gluster. Either cable can be pulled or either switch rebooted without
disturbing Ovirt. Switches are connected to each
What if you have two fast 2TB SSDs per server in hardware RAID 1, 3 hosts
in replica 3. Dual 10gb enterprise nics. This would end up being a single
2TB volume, correct? Seems like that would offer great speed and have
pretty decent survivability.

Hi,
Trying to make the most of a limited budget. I need fast I/O for
operations under 4MB, and high availability of VMs in an Ovirt cluster.
I Have 3 nodes running Ovirt and want to rebuild them with hardware for
converging storage.
Should I use 2 960GB SSDs in RAID1 in each node, replica 3?

Is anyone able to clarify this requirement for me?

by the RAID card in JBOD. The Hardware
vendor asked "Do you know if Gluster makes use of flash-cache in JBOD?"
If it does, I'm not certain how the size of this flash cache affects the
operation.

I like the idea of forgoing the RAID cards as they are quite expensive,
especially the capacitor backed ones. The onboard controller can handle
JBOD just fine, if Gluster is OK with it!

It worries me how many threads talk about low performance. I'm about to
build out a replica 3 setup and run Ovirt with a bunch of Windows VMs.
Are the issues Tony is experiencing "normal" for Gluster? Does anyone here
have a system with windows VMs and have good performance?
