That is just storing your account so that you don't have to re-type it every time. Sure, it takes a few more clicks to remove it but that is not required for the next person to be able to login. This is very useful for someone like me who has multiple Gmail accounts. If you are using a public

I don't follow, I click on my avatar and then the 'Sign out' button. Two clicks. Not sure what the problem with the login screen is either. I select the account, enter password and in. Here's an interesting way to sign out using a keyboard shortcut.
