I'm compiling now, and I'm at the exact same error as you. Took a little while to get everything set up - but now I can help out at least. Time is running late now, but I'll resume tomorrow, tomorrow is my last day before I take vacation for the rest of the year, so I have plenty of time the next

Also - they say: 'Since glibc 2.17, the library linking -rt is no longer required. ' I now have glib-2.0, could that be the issue? that glib version is too old in gNewSense, causing the linker error? (you can print these library version by installing this: apt-get install apt-show-versions then
