Re: [Gnewsense-dev] Fwd: Bugtrace of Yeeloong + X.org on Debian Squeeze

2010-12-14 Thread wu zhangjin
This has already been fixed(or at least we can say there was already a
fixup), but the patch is not in the upstream Xorg yet, please refer to
http://www.bjlx.org.cn/node/753

Hi, Néstor, could you please paste the above link in the bug tracking
system, I have no account of that system.

Thanks Regards,
Wu Zhangjin

Subject: Bugtrace of Yeeloong + X.org on Debian Squeeze
 To: grazi...@gn..., tzaf...@co...

 Hello,

please, take a look at this post:

 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=594684#20

I post the bugtrace of the driver. Please, I'm stuck with this. Nobody
has still been able to make it work? This laptop is supposed to be
 100% free.

 Thanks,
 Néstor.

I applied:

  cat ../xf86-video-siliconmotion-1.7.3-fix-loongson.patch | patch -p1

Inside sources for xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion-1.7.3 (debian
squeeze), but got this error

http://paste.debian.net/102392/

What'im missing?

 I applied:

   cat ../xf86-video-siliconmotion-1.7.3-fix-loongson.patch | patch -p1

This one is for video playback acceleration.
It has hard coded loongson specific SMID instructions.
You need to use a recent binutils and gcc which support -march=loongson2f to
compile it.
However, Debian defaults to mips1. That's why you got the error.

If your problem is X doesn't work at all.
You need this patch: 999_loongson-mips-sarea-EnableIOPrts.diff.gz
This patch applies to xorg server, instead of siliconmotion driver.

 Inside sources for xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion-1.7.3 (debian

Sorry, a typo, SIMD, single instruction, multiple data.

If you're running debian on the laptop please take it up with debian.
Since it may be an xorg problem, perhaps with xorg upstream.

This just looks like an unnecessary attempt at a guilt trip.
