legacy tray / topicons plus in wayland gnome-shell

Hello here, I recently tested Wayland in Fedora 24, and noticed that icons in the legacy tray are unresponsive. I am aware of this statement about status icons not going to be supported in Wayland: https://wiki.gnome.org/Design/Whiteboards/StatusIcons But it is unofficial and quite dated.
