I'd love to see a fully free Qubes; that is what has held me back from
trying it (lack of linux-libre, specifically); I don't have the time to
start stripping things out of the OS myself.

I heard about a non libre operating system and I wondered if a libre version could be made...

Qubes OS is a security by isolation operating system based on fedora.  I
would love to see someone make a libre version of Qubes OS

For those  who don't know, this operating system is not libre but has
immense security and it allows you to run any virtual machine you want
in it and its security is made in a way that even nonfree bioses can
utilize it and still be secure.

oddly enough, it uses the vanilla kernel.

any thoughts to this idea of making a fully libre version of this
operating system?
