Dick -- Make sure you get the v2.6.18 that was the 10.8.2017 build (I think it is build 3). The first and second builds were missing the help files but this third build has them. Get it directly from Gnucash.org - it should be v2.6.18-3. Ken -Original Message- From: gnucash-user

I added the extra text to the environment file as requested. - GnuCash loaded normally. - I created and saved a new file. - I was able to exit GnuCash and restart successfully, loading the new file. - I tried to load a copy of my existing data file from 2.6.18 and the "loading user data..." stage
