thanks for you answer. What i did was to tick on "trading accounts",
then i redid both the transactions (actual sell and capital gain), it
added transactions to newly created trading accounts, and i could see
the opposite side of the capital gains in its own register. Then i

I believe you have the correct information recorded but you cannot see it.
In your security register go to your second security sale transaction which
records the capital gain income. Highlight the income line and click
'Jump'. That puts you in the income account register for the capital
