Thanks. I might look at the Debian repos. But afaik, and as discussed by others in the thread, it appears that for Ubuntu the app versions are frozen to the main kernel versions. So unless some other method is used, we're stuck at 3.8 for Gnucash (for instance) until Mint upgrades or we can
