Glad you got it working, but 11Gb is more than enough to install
GnuCash. (by 10+Gb) Perhaps something else was amiss that you happened
to clear up.

The message I got was that GnuCash was not compatible with my PC and I
should contact the publisher.
I am using this old lap top as am planning to travel.
The latest version installed fine on my Desktop.

GnuCash does say it supports Windows 8. One possibility is that GnuCash
is built as a 64-bit application and you have a 32-bit version of
Windows. You can follow
