Hi, Michael,
Some others responded also, so now I have successfully exported to HTML
and opened the files in a spreadsheet. I didn't know that was possible.
Now I do. All's well, and I'm thankful for your help!

files it opens to be "LibreOffice Calc files" << it of course does
prefer the open document versio
